I've been looking into the diyPresso recently and I am seriously considering picking up a kit! The machine looks amazing, but true dynamic pressure profiling is a make-or-break feature for me.

Seeing this older thread, I would love to get an update on where the pressure profiling experiments currently stand. Specifically, I'm curious if there are any official plans to integrate a digital pressure sensor and an AC dimmer board to control the pump. If true pressure profiling isn't available right now out of the box, is it officially on the roadmap for the near future?

Having the ability to pull complex, dynamic profiles would be a total game changer for me and a guaranteed buy. Thanks for all the incredible work you guys have put into this project!

Many thanks and best wishes

- There is around 9cm between the drip tray and bottom of the portafilter. If you use a naked portafilter, there is more space, around 13cm.

- regarding the cleaning and maintenancy. I use 'Cafiza2' for cleaing the brew group. You add some in a blind filter and run the extraction a few times. Remove the blind filter and extract with just water for a few times. Some say it's good to do this every week, but it depends on how much extractions you do :) The water reservoir, you can take out of the machine every now and the to clean.

There is no cleaning program yet programmed in the software. Maybe we'll add this feature in a firmware update in the near future.

Hope this helps!

Thanks for the question and nice words. The moka pot is a very different way of making coffee. Off course you can change the parameters - like pressure - of the diyPresso. But still it would be a different way of extraction and the style won't be the same. Off course, it's not just espresso the diyPresso One produces. Change the grind, increase the flow rate, you can make a lungo. Add hot water afterwards and you'll have an Americano.

Hope this helps!

Good evening,

I love your project, and as someone who enjoys DIY equipment and is willing to update his coffee setup, I am considering acquiring a diyPresso One. The only issue is that espresso is not my favorite type of coffee, yet. I'm usually using a Bialetti moka pot and I really enjoy the type of coffee it makes. So, my question is: to which extent would I be able to modify the brewing parameters of the diyPresso One, and how close could I come to a moka pot style coffee?

I hope the question is not utterly extravagant, I'm quite new around here.

Thanks for your question and your nice words! Yes. We do have plans for a diyPresso Two. The development of a diyPresso with steam wand is in progress at this moment. Not sure when the release will be; but 2026 for sure. We won't use a second boiler, but will install an heating block instead - next to the boiler for E61 - for smaller machine dimensions. The price will be higher than the diyPresso One. Once the development is finshed, we will have a better overview regarding release date and price. Hope this answers your question.
